This is my place on the web, separate from office and from fiction writing, a place for students and colleagues to learn more about my academic interests.
I study what catches my attention, and I like sharing information if it helps people. These days, I’m drawn to topics about Professional Identity Formation, outcomes and assessments, and populist rhetoric in educational contexts as a threat to democracy.
I am a born educator and love working through problems to help folks understand difficult concepts. I see myself as a facilitator of learning, and in my classroom community, I learn as much from students as they learn from me. We grow together. In some capacity or another, I’ve been a teacher since high school, when I was a peer tutor and taught saxophone lessons.
In my current position, I am a Legal Writing Professor at California Western School of Law, where I also teach Education Law and Artificial Intelligence Law and Practice.
If there’s a legal topic of interest to you, let’s talk about it.
